Default My vanda orchid

Hey guys...I heard vandas are the more high temp tolerant orchid soo i decided to go to the nursery at the end of Sg Buloh and get one.....I have almost 0% experience with orchids so im kinda nervous..Don't wanna it to die..Is it a vanda BTW? Anyway i read somewhere that you give them lots of water but they have to dry out fast.. Is that right? Anyway would misting them at night be appreciated by them or will it cause it to rot cause the water doesn't dry up as fast? Heres a picture

Here are the roots....Hope they're fine..the roots are greenish though...

Oh yea guys its Rm 20 is it expensive or cheap for this type of orchid? Also where can i find liquid fert for orchid in KL...The nurseries didn't have any...

Looks something like Mokara (= Arachnis x Vanda x Ascocentrum) Chark Kuan 'orange' or similar. Mokaras are flowering machines, provided they get enough sunlight and fertiliser. Grow in the same place as the more sun-loving neps should be good. up to you if you want to repot or not. If you do, use a pot with many drainage holes (or clay 'orchid pots' with holes at the sides). I use sheep pellets fertiliser. Put about 4-5 pellets in a small piece of cloth and tie with rubber band or thin wire. Place in the pot near the roots and just water the plant once a day. If your place is rather dry, then misting might be necessary. If the neps are happy, then mokara should be happy too.

Hey thanks for the ID and tips for growing it....As for repotting is there something wrong with the pot? I watered it today and it drained immediately so i guess that's good...Anyway would be nice to get a nicer clay pot

Nothing wrong with current pot. Just its full of roots. Up to you if you want to get a larger pot. When repotting, soak the whole pot with roots into water for 10 minutes until the roots turn green. Give the pot a little squeeze and pull out. Or you can just put the old pot into the new one and fill with more charcoal.
