« Reply #3 on Feb 5, 2008, 9:47am » I was at Fauzi's nursery yesterday to buy some plants. He showed me some of his secret collection ---- DEFINITELY NOT for SALE! I wished I had brought a camera with me. He got cuttings of N. platychila and N. vogelii. He also bought one each of: N. mikei and N. petiolata to check their suitability to our environment. I am impressed with the dark red colour and the shape of petiolata pitchers. Fauzi, photo please.

What I am impressed too is, Fauzi managed to get the highlanders not only to grow but pitcher too. Platychila, vogelii and stenophylla have pitchers. Even lowii have small pitchers. And all this in just normal shaded enviromnent! Fauzi, what's your secret.

Fauzi please bring in N. petiolata.

BTW, Fauzi had confirmed that he will be bringing in N. campanulata SOON!

Choong

Thanks Choong for the compliment. Actually it is all through trial and error and in the due course some plants may not survive before you can achieved the desired result. Sometime it pays and sometimes it don't.

I'll take and post some photos of the plants that I have bought for trial, dare not to take the risk yet on these plants.

Thanks

Fauzi

Platychila is an intermediate plant not highland.
It can grow well in LL conditions. But what i'm surprised of is lowii.i tought it can't even grow in LL but in your case it pitchering.I think ephipiata will suite our climate because of it's lower elevation from lowii.
