Default Gila Tilly

Coincidently, I bought a tilly today. I am not sure what the ID is. Is it a tillandsia streptophylla or xero?

90% of my tillies moved to new place... Triang Botanical Valley ( TBV ) - a centre of exotic collections like orchids, platyceriums, lycopodiums, herbs and tillies.

Look like my tillies very happy with the new place!

You got yourself a nice xero!! These are very slow to grow, so expect it to stay much the same size for a year or two. I burnt one of my xeros today after exposing it to full sun, which should not have happened and has never happened before to my other xeros. I wonder why...

Did you 'train it' before hand? Nowdays the weather is very inpredictable. A couple of cloudy and rainy days alternate with sudden sunny day can cause sunburn too.

Previously I placed it under 50% shade of netting, after which I shifted it out to a bright but indirect sunlit corner of the garden, before moving it again to completely exposed but high (on the top of a PVC pole) location. Strangely it did not form the typical 'cabbage' curl but only the tips curled like a strepto, and the leaves near the center of the plant became scorched. Since the plant is originally yellowish green instead of the usual blue green, I'm guessing it could be a hybrid of a xero with something else....strepto?
