Competition Format
Below is the format on how the competition will be carried out:
* As of 4 November 2009 this competition shall be held TWICE A YEAR, meaning once every 6 months in APRIL and SEPTEMBER and no longer carried out quarterly. 1. All entries must be emailed to the Administrator and the Administrator shall vet though all entries to ensure that they comply with the Terms and Conditions of the competition. Entries that do not comply with competition Terms and Conditions shall be disqualified. 2. The judges will then be invited to look through all the entries and give their votes. Each vote given by the judges represents 5 points and each judge is entitled to 3 votes in each category. It is the prerogative of each judge to decide on how to use his 3 votes. These votes will be emailed to the Administrator. 3. The Administrator shall post the pictures together with judges' votes (collectively) in the competition boards for member’s viewing. All entries and judges' votes shall remain anonymous until the winning entry is found. The judges’ votes will influence member’s votes for the wining plant. 4. Members will then be invited to give their comments on the entries in the competition boards. However, members are NOT ALLOWED to question judges' votes. The judges votes are final. 5. A poll will be carried out thereafter to determine member’s preference for the wining plant. Each member is entitled to 1 vote in each category. Each member's vote represents 1 point. Therefore vote for the best entry in each category as you are only allowed to vote once in each category. 6. Member’s poll results shall be tallied with the judges’ votes and the top entries with the most votes shall be announced the winner/winners in each category. The judges’ decision on the winner of the Certificate for Best of Show and Certificate of Botanical Recognition will be announced if specimens can be found eligible for the award. The Administrator shall also announce the winner of The PetPitcher Award of Merit. 7. In the event of a tie in the votes, the Judges/Administrator shall make the final decision on the winning plant.
