Given that I live in an apartment as large as someone's chicken coop (yeh, that was what I was told LOL ), many of the plants at my balcony ain't as large as they should be. Despite that, many of them have got good leaf : pitcher ratio. Most of the time, the pitcher is more than half the length of the leaf. Otherwise, the plants have got multiple basal/lateral shoots.
The measurements taken were of the leaf with the newest fully developed pitcher (lid excluded). N. albomarginata (green) - 5" leaf : 2.5" pitcher ![]() ![]() N. khasiana - 2" leaf : 3" pitcher ![]() ![]() N. mirabilis - 5" leaf : 2.5" pitcher ![]() ![]() N. hookeriana - 3" leaf : 2.5" pitcher ![]() ![]() N. reinwardtiana - 2.5" leaf : 2" pitcher ![]() ![]() N. maxima x ventricosa - 4" leaf : 2.5" pitcher ![]() ![]() N. kuchingensis (BE) - 3.5" leaf : 2.5" pitcher ![]() ![]() |

We have a nick name for Cindy, but we've not been using it lately. We call her the "CP Queen".
![]() Cindy, Your hooker picther is huge in comparison with the plant and leaves. Love it! I can't help but think of a coconut tree when I look at your N. maxima x ventricosa... Haa, haaa, a coconut tree with elongated coconuts growing from the leaves. Like the nice clean green on your albo. Great plants Cindy.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
I have limited space and unfortunately have to constrict the plants in small pots. Not sure if anyone noticed, but the maxima x ventricosa is in a thumbpot. Amazing! I am not repotting because the plant is happily producing pitchers. Three things I hope for in my "chicken coop". Neps that will pitcher on every leaf, Neps that stays compact and Neps that turns out to be female. ![]() |
