How do you grow it? lowland or highland, natural or artificial lighting?. I'd be grateful if you can share your technique on how to grow this beast with us. Thanks Gus Link to Post - Back to Top Logged sweethalo Full Member member is offline Joined: Oct 2007 Gender: Female Posts: 119 Location: Singapore, Seletar Re: Yawning N. sibuyanensis « Reply #4 on May 17, 2008, 2:19pm » Hi Sockhom such a juicy sibu you hv there! Sorry for the delay. I think you should already know by now that I'm always willing to share . Well, I don't know if I'm doing special. This plant grows well for me in Sphagnum with a portion of orchid back. It likes bright or filtered light (I used tubes for all my plants), very high humidity and it pitchers even when the temperatures are not really highland but intermediate. It stops the pitchers production for 3 or 4 months just after the summer. Currently, it is reaching the top of my terrarium so the leaves are getting smaller. I just noticed, though, that a very aggressive basal has appeared: good news! The pitcher I have shown is currently more than 17 cm long and it is still colouring. I will post a picture soon Here are some pics of my growing area: http://lhnn.proboards107.com/index.c...ay&thread=1576 If you have other questions, Gus, just ask . Friendly, François. « Last Edit: May 21, 2008, 3:56am by sockhom »Link to Post - Back to Top Logged agustinfranco Junior Member member is offline Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 59 Location: Sydney Re: Yawning N. sibuyanensis « Reply #7 on May 21, 2008, 5:46am » Hi Francois: Thanks for the info. I have had a sibuyanensis for 4 years and it never pitchered. I have changed the conditions for it and a basal came out. Only one pitcher was produced. As we are in winter downunder, i would not expect any miracles but until October or November this year. I don't use lights, but after seeing your beautiful plant, i am tempted to use them on it. By the way, I have other phillippino species producing pitchers like copelandii, ventricosa, truncata, alata, and even petiolata, but not sibuyanensis. I guess, i can't grow them all, can I ?. Thanks very much for your reply. Gus Link to Post - Back to Top Logged |

Re: sockhom: Yawning N. sibuyanensis
Hello!
Could you help me? Is this plant a N. sibuyanensis or N. belly? Thank you very much. |
