Default Let's grow moss!!!

Hi all,
Who grows moss here? (as in grow in terracotta pots and terrariums)
I'm trying to collect some species of moss like sphagnum and felt moss and try to grow clumps of them for my upcoming terrarium project (I'm making an indoor moss garden) . Any experience/advice growing are appreciated, TIA!!

Aaron, is yours live sphagnum? Where can you find it? I can't seem to find any around KL area. Other than if you collected it on one of your trips or from someone.

Sphagnum moss is not very fast growing, if you wanted to grow enough to use for a terrarium, it might take you a while to grow enough of it.... unless you have a lot to start with.

Yeah I have Java moss now in my planted tank Andy. Just tied them to some hardwood branch and waiting for them to start growing . But I'm also looking for some other types of moss, to grow emersed (out of water) or submersed (underwater). Most of the time they do need dripping water to keep them moist so they will grow well and fast.

cpnut: eh? something new that...thanks for the info...im actually looking for something that can grow fast for me :D

Somebody told me that you can blend mosess (suppose any kind) with egg white in a blender. Then spread the mixture on any surface and water as usual. Was told it produce good result but I never tried it before.
What do you think!

I've got some Carlsberg cans from CNY. Let's try it!!! For good measure, why not mix both egg and beer!
Aaron: Thanks a bunch, I will find out from Fauzi!
