Re: Heading to Borneo
Pinnacles will take you some time. Last time I stayed in Camp 5 for 2 nights while visiting pinnacles. Beautiful place, pristine and quiet. That was 8 years? ago. Nostalgic thinking of it now...

Re: Heading to Borneo
Hello,
First, thanks to all for you kind help: Here's an idea of our "programme" (we will finally stay 12 days): Day 01 Kuching International Airport - Day 02 - Bau + Lundu Road for full day Nepenthes explore ( northiana, ampullaria, albomarginata, gracilis, hirsuta, Mirabilis, rafflesiana, reinwardtiana ) - Day 03 - Orang Utan - Pantu for n.Bicalcarata - Day 04 - Bako National Park for full day tour ( Highlighted on Proboscis monkey & others wildlife) - Day 05 Any idea? (one more day in Bako?) Day 06 Any idea? Day 07 Any idea? Day 08 - Mount Santubong for Veitchii & tentaculata - Day 09 - Kuching Airport - Miri Airport - Mulu Airport - visit Lang & Deer caves - Day 10 - visit to wind & clear water caves Day 11 - Mulu Airport - Miri Airport - Kuching Airport - Day 12 - Kuching Airport. So we could stay one more day in Bako or/and we could visit the Rafflesia park. Is there something left to see in Mulu (except the pinacles and the surrounding Gunungs?). Is it possible to see N. campanulata in the wild? Thanks for your help. François. Last edited by Sockhom; 28th November 2008 at 07:02 AM. Reason: Correction |

Re: Heading to Borneo
Hello François,
i highly recommend you extend your stay in Mulu. you still have ample time. Get in touch with your agent in kuching, otherwise write to Mulu park. your main visit will be pitcher plants, besides seeing the world's largest cave system, get a guide familiar with pitcher plants of Mulu - campanulata, amps, bical. The following need long difficult trek to view- faizaliana, tentaculata, muluensis, lowii, veitchii. |
