Conservation
well, it some how doesn't make sense to me that, if we want conservation, why still hang a price tag on nep...and why rate it with different price? First thing was not to collect nep from the wild, but where does those nep in our garden comes from...right before it was cultivated or stuff like that, it is some how originally from the wild right(at least the root source)?
just my little opinion

Re: Conservation
Ken,
TC'ing seeds is not fast.As from what i've heard from MT,it takes mora than 8 months for the seeds to germinate in the agar which makes it slower than we germinate them in sphagnum moss. Not only seeds are TC'ed,any part of the plants can be TC'ed. Yes..a lot of plants can be made using TC but it requires patience as it takes a very long time for them to grow and they also need time to harden as well.Harden means, plants taken out right from the jar cannot be planted and exposed to light. There are steps to make the plant harden before it can be sold or else it will die.

Re: Conservation
Marvin,
TC plants is for mass production because it have some advantage : _ All the plants is same ( clone ) all plants with same special thing. _ Plants can production all the time. Seeds is good too _ It grow same with TC plants but some time faster then TC plants _ It produce some fantastic plants But it have disadvantage _ Only 70% is same with parent _ Can't do mass production So TC alway is choice |
