Re: Pygmae Drosera
I used sand and peat mix 1:1. Peat is pre-soak and rinsed many times to get rid of impurities (acid and stuff). Top layer I use pure peat because I find that these sun loving fellow can get burnt if the sand gets too hot, just a thin layer.
Water using tray method only. Contrary to what many people suggest, and they rightly done so, I couldn't find deep pots so I use normal "Baba" 105 pots and they thrived..... until I got too busy and forgot to water them- yes that is why I have none left now. Be wary of algae and if possible get rid of moss (those green stuff) co-habitating in the same pot. The empty spots between plants are victims of algae. Re: Pygmae Drosera
Fine river sand. Otherwise just use sand used for plastering or even fine sea sand. Make sure you wash the sand many many times to get ride of stuff like salt, impurities.

Re: Pygmae Drosera
BA, I grow all my pygmae in normal pot too, they thrived .
As to get rid of the algae/spores in the media, I use microwave oven , before growing the plants of course. |
