Try putting the pot over running water for 10 minutes or so. However, I do not think a little vitamin and small animal will harm your hooker. See others have other theories or facts to share.

What happened to your Alata? Same thing?

I agree with David, should be fine, if it's just the plant and not the mix, then just rinse it once and that is it, if it soaked the potting mix, then water a lot maybe 3 times a day for 2 days, but shouldn't really be a problem I just hope it doesn't allow fungus and stuff to bloom... it shouldn't. Just rinse. But lastly, you need to be careful next time, I really can't imagine how that situation happened, try to avoid the same situation in the future

Yeah, I doubt that the vitamins will have any real affect. Its the minerals that are the danger. As long as you give your hamsters relatively mineral low water they should be fine. And relax, I fertilize my plants through the roots with a half strength mix every month. Even if your water had some minerals they would not die.

I can't imagine either vitamin or minerals for hamsters could have any harmful effect on Nepenthes, probably might do them some good instead! The vitamins will decompose into some mild fertilizer, and may be directly useful too, Vit. B1 (Thiamine mononitrate, or T. hydrocloride) is often used in rooting compounds as it is used to form new roots. Plants manufacture their own vitamins. It's why CPs are carnivorous, they need to digest the proteins of their prey in order to get the amino units (which give us humans and other animals some problems sometimes) to synthesize their own vitamins. Any trace minerals are also most likely useful as well. - Rich
