Nepenthes Promotion at Flora Fest 2007
« Thread Started on Feb 2, 2007, 12:16am » According to yesterday's The Star's Metro (page8), Encik Mohd Fauzi Abu Bakar (Garden Four ZE) is promoting nepenthes at the Flora Bazaar in Putrajaya. Plants are sold at RM10 to RM300. Nepenthes fertilisers, media, sphagnum moss, perlite are also sold. The fest ends this Sunday. Check this out and don't forget money!!!!

I really wanted to go with you but have to go outstation for work for 4 days starting tomorrow. Can call me when you are there to see what species they have? can I trouble you to purchase for me first if there is something I like?

This is my second trip to Putrajaya. On a Saturday afternoon, Putrajaya is only about half a hour drive along the SILK tollway from by home in Cheras. It is a very impressive place, well laid out, wide roads, filled with grand buildings and monuments. It reminded me of Canberra. (I was offerred to work as Computer Systems Officer with Dept of Health in Canberra, many, many years ago) Like Canberra, it is a very quiet if not a dead place on a Saturday afternoon. You can crawl across the road like a snail without having to worry about a car knocking you down.

Well in downtown Putrajaya, I felt stupid waiting at the traffic lights when there is hardly any cars around. I managed to find the giant tent. It is very impressive structure. The only trouble is the place was too quiet. And workers seemed to be taking it down. Something is not right. I checked the giant banner at the entrance, and it said the fest is from 27 Jan to 4 Feb.

So Robert I don't know what nepenthes cost RM300!
