Re: Sunset in the glistening forest! Part 2
On theory, it suppose to can protect, but i can minimize the inertia of the rain droplet to hit the plant, as the shading net can reduce the size and inertia of the rain, hence less water droplet will fall on the sundew of the plant and the plant can save energy....I think so....hehe...

Re: Sunset in the glistening forest! Part 2
No. Even worst when got heavy rain! The shade cloth gather all the rain water and drop on my plants. However, no harm for the adult plants. But seedlings may disappear after the heavy rain. This 50% shade cloth is actually for Nepenthes and Dionaea. Most of my Drosera still without shade. Include the D. filiformis in the photo. The shade cloth you see in the photo is actually just behind the D. filiformis.

Re: Sunset in the glistening forest! Part 2
Thanks for information about watering method. One idea to reduce size of raindrops, although it would be a lot of work, is to raise the center posts and make the center ridge of the shade cloth higher so that the view from the front is an upsidedown "V". I don't know what kind of angle it would have to be to get most of the rain to run down the shade cloth, but you can get some idea by experimenting with the extra shade cloth that's hanging down at the back. However, it's probably a lot easier to germinate the sundew seeds outside the shade house.

Re: Sunset in the glistening forest! Part 2
But the shade cloth in my house actually help my mom to reduce the rain damage so that her orchid flower could survive from the rain, she raised the centre and control where the water will gather together and fall down into a big black tong(where i mostly get all the water for watering my plant ^^
