Default Miranda peristome

I just noticed a new miranda pitcher opening this morning and the peristome colors were so nice that I went back and took a couple pictures;

Thanks Ken. That's it I'm afraid! I have a few others but they apparently were too shaded and I've only just moved them a week or two ago. Mine has tiny teeth on the inside of the peristome, visible in the first photograph. I got this, and a few others, from a grower who did not label anything, so I'm just assuming it's a straight N. miranda.

Hi Shawn,

It is 99.9% a N miranda hahaha 0.01% is still a chance....Not all mirandas have the pointy teeth on their lid every plant is different.Probally my miranda just has more influence from the maxima than from the northiana and yours has less thats all,thats what my teory is which i don't think have any science behind it.BTW my biggest is 27cm only but getting larger by the pitcher.

WOW! That's spectacular... Hmm, my miranda peristome does not seem so broad like yours. Maybe I didn't really noticed it. Will watch out for it.

Shawn, I'm feeling hungry for nectar around your miranda pitcher.

Thanks guys, You really have to catch them on the day the lid pops open to see this nice wide peristome. Within a day it starts to curl and darken up. Using my special 'time warp' camera - here's what it'll look like tomorrow;

You are right Ken, must have miss-set my time warp calibrator! I just looked at it this morning and while starting to fold back already it is still very colorful!
