Default My first flower!

I know this is no big deal to those of you that have Neps bloom all the time, so Im sorry if I bore you with this post, lol.

This is my first Nepenthes flower so I am EXTREMELY excited and have been running around the house with a big ol cheesy grin on my face!

N. fusca 'Sarawak'

Well, Im off to search the web for any and all info on Nepenthes flowers (one area I have not researched yet).

Happy growing everyone!
Victoria

Congratulations, Victoria! I'd probably run around my house with a cheesy grin on my face too if any of mine flowered. (They are still so young yet, I'm sad to say )

So how long have you had your fusca?

Thanks! I have been growing it for about 1 1/2 yrs now. I found this info on the identification of Nep flowers, and going by it, I have to say it is probably a male:

Here is a pic I took of it today.

Here is the whole plant.

Happy growing;

Wow, your able to tell at that early of a stage? It still looks very young. Well if it is a male, you should see if anyone wants the pollen.

I dont know, I am just going by the website I posted above.....this is the first Nep flower I have ever seen so I am definitely unexperienced at IDing them. Here is an updated picture of the flower:

Still looks like the description of a male from that site but I suppose only time will tell....anyone else know if this is male or female?
If it is a male I am definitely going to offer the pollen if anyone is interested, I just dont want to post it until I am 100% sure it is a male (no point in looking like a total idiot, lol)
Happy growing;
Victoria

The pitchers on the plant is huge in comparison to the leaves. That's a nice healthy plant. Congrats on your first nep flower.

The flower bud looked round, it is a boy! Victoria. Congrates on your first flower stalk and I can imagine how happy you are as most of us felt the same when we come to this.
Happy growing!
