Just thought I should share this info.

The current shipment of N veithchii "Bareo" will look like this, not the same pic as shown on the website. This pic came straight from Juliana of MT.
Name: NE-32C N veitchii Bareo -Big plant.jpg

Hope this help.

Wow! That N. veithchii barrio looks great! But US $80? Can this handle anything like our lowland conditions? Hmmmm, wonder why I didn't get my copy of the newsletter? Thanks for posting this. Has anyone grown the 'Konak" yet? Looks nice too!

Robert (cpnut),

Why do you have to post that picture. Why... I am thinking about spending money on this now. Sooo tempting!

It's indeed a beautiful plant.

Seems like the Bario form from MT is not as squat as it should be. I have a friend who grows the Bario veitchii here in lowland conditions. His pitchers are really squat.

Why not support our Fauzi on the N veitchii which is also from MT and same clone NE-32C. His cost is RM240 only for large plant which is USD68.57. Moreover, his comes with pot and has acclimatised to KL already.

Hi Shawn,
I got a x konak. IMHO this cross by MT is not as beautiful as some N. albo x N vetchii or vice versa cross that I have seen (pics) from other sources. I asked Juliana to send me the pics of the current clone on sale just to verify how it would look like.

David,
Haha... poison2 !!! The reason I posted the pic is because what MT show on the website is the "bareo" form with attractive striped peristome. Their current shipping clone don't have such peristome, it's still however a very attractive nep.

Batrus,
Yes, you're right. I picked up the last Size M "bareo" from Fauzi and asked David to bring over for me during the last Penang Flora Fest. Anyone interested should buy from Fauzi since his plants already acclimatised to LL condition already, like what bro bactrus pointed out.

I think there are a few forms of veitchi Bareo. The one that showed on the newsletter is the squat form with very pink coloration and striped peristome. The best formed is exhibited by BE.

From Prof Kamalrudin Mat-Salleh photostream, you can find more photos:

If you want good buy, try going to Cameron Highlands. If you are lucky, you can find good size plants with from YG (likely MT clones) going for RM80-RM150.

I got two plants - slight pink pitchers with a few stripes on my trip up to CH with David early this month. I think I got very good deal for the two plants.
