Default Sarracenia Pitcher Size

My Sarra is producing large tall pitchers with tiny lids and 'mouth'(what was that called...peristome?). Why?? You can compare the size of the bigger pitcher on the left with the smaller but almost the same height pitcher on the right.

Well maybe that species has smaller mouths.....And also the shiny pitcher which i think you're trying to point too is a smaller pitcher and probally already separated from the mother plant therefor making smaller pitchers.

Main plant=separate=another smaller plant..

My sarrs also produce smaller trap and i thouht it was weird but when i looked at it..it was from a different rhizome. And BTW its peristrome you missed out the i hahaha

I know its from a different rhizome. But its weird cause the pitcher shape looks like its pregnant but it doesn't inflate when it open. It only inflate 40% of the whole pitcher size. And the peristrome and lid is smaller than my fingernail.

Well Aaron,

I'm not that good in sarrs....actually not good in any CPs lol......so maybe the other gurus in this forum can lend a helping hand and you'll lend them you ears and you might solve the prob.

All i can actually say is that you plant needs a lot more sunlight.Honestly,I don't really see anything wrong with your sarr...Even my sarrs when they inflate before they open at the mouth they are quite fat after they open they will be slightly skinnier but not as much as you stated only 40% on what it was

Never mind one-lah. Its already pitchering like crazy with more than 15 pitchers. Only skinnier. Not so seriouslah. I've just check my sarra and it looks like it inflate only 60% not 40%.

i think because of the sun movement in this month..(i dunno how to describe in english)
even they recieve enough sunlight, they fail to make pitcher.
most of my sarr just like yours.they doesnt inflate. some of them cant survive.
