I'm TS, you are TS168...
OK, I grow U. aurea in a lily pot in the garden, I don't feed them. U. aurea flowers quite freely. I was given a few strands by David and now they grow like weed. I have a aquarium that "contaminated" by U. gibba, it's kind of difficult to get rid of them, I saw once in a nursery that U. gibba thrive in a shallow tray with alot of yellow flowers, I think should get some a try growing them in the garden too. |

Re: Utricularia aurea (anyone keep this)
I think i will only collect those aqautic one. Currently has this Utricularia aurea(yellow Flower) and another one not sure the english name yet, but is red flower one, the plant is same as Utricularia aurea but is reddish.
But it seen to be not growing as well as Utricularia aurea. Will try propagate it and then do some experiment. I see very few hobbist into this Utricularia, especially the aquatic one. Cheers. I was told that Utricularia aurea can be found in afew country, including malaysia, Japan and taiwan. I think Aldrovanda vesiculosa look very same to Utricularia. |

Re: Utricularia aurea (anyone keep this)
use to keep this u. gibba but don't know it was a carnivourous plant last time, so throw all away since it grow non-stop, it thrives in cooling water, i got mine in oil palm estate in my home town, can see the yellow flower blooming in the entire drain, full of them, i feed them with daphnia(left over food of my fish)
they can produce food themselves as they attract tiny organism to grow on them(infusoria) and then trap it
