The D.capilaris I got from david was doing well until it grew a flower stalk and the whole plant kinda died and the flower turned black and now it's recovering. It became smaller. Now another D.capilaris (was growing real well, from fauzi, labeled it as red D.capensis?) flowered and it also has no dew on the leave and begining to die so I cut of the flower. I don't know they exhaust themselves when flowering? Someone please confirm it

all my drosera capensis flower.constantly. It doesnt stop them from producing leaves though. To my knowledge, its a myth for flytraps and other carnivores to be exhausted and eventually die from flowering. It is natural of any plant to produce flowers, and it helps if you have them in an environment that is similar to there habitat, that way if they do flower, they will continue to grow. Of course the plant will exhaist itself and die if it was previously stressed, especially from shipping. I find alot of CPs sometime flower out of season because of this. Cut them right off! Hope this helps =)

try feeding it more when you start seeing a flower stalk coming up next time. It works on my mine and even burmanii that people say are annuals. Continue to feed it after flowering and it should be fine. Also remember the other variables like lots of sunlight etc.

Well if the plant is healthy, then i say let it flower. And i agree with David, feeding right before it flowers should give it the amount of energy it takes to make flower and leaves.
