Default Re: when to harvest drosera seeds

Yeah unfortunately for Binata seeds are hard to come by for some reason. Maybe because I have several plants that is the same exact clone as the others, so it might be sterile. A friend of mine said that he thinks most Binatas are sterile because he too never got seeds.

So, for us that are unfortunate enough to not get seeds from Binata flowers (I have 3 plants flowering now and I don't care about it anymore), the best way to propagate is to do leaf cutting or some do root cuttings.

By the way for flowers of other droseras, don't wait for the flowers to turn black, it should just brown and that indicates they are ripe. If already spilling seeds, then cut the stalk and put in plastic bag. I think shake (in a bag) method is better because squeezing might mean there are seeds left in the but. So if you squeeze, don't throw the bud parts away, sow the buds, who know there might be seeds in there that might germinate.
