Re: Yamanaka's Grow list
Hi,
Welcome to PP. You got some interesting collection. Did you grow you N. lowii in L/L condition without any cooling? You mentioned that your amp potted in black garden soil won't pitcher? Try to post this in the Nepenthes thread and there'll be experts that can help you. |

HI David,my bicalcarata is not big at all.2-in tall.Plus, the leaves are all covered in pink patches.I may miss something important. The question is,how do i grow the bical without the patches?

Re: Yamanaka's Grow list
My lowii is one tough customer. If don't water it enough,it'll be dry in no time.Too much sunlight and its bye-bye lowii. The leaves are so small, each produces small,dull-coloured pitchers.I give cool misting to it during the night, same goes to my other hi and lo neps.

Re: Yamanaka's Grow list
I think what your bical is experiecing is rust spot fungus. I had this problem as well untill I change some things...
Grow it is a more airy media like 80% coconut chips mixed with some s. moss or coconut peat. Line the top of the media with s. moss to help retain moisture in the media. The coconut chips I use is about 1/2 inch to 1 inch cubes. If you do not place the s. moss on top the media will dry out very fast and the plant will wilt. If possible place it in a location that received lots of sunlight but shaded from the rain. They seem to love it like that and will grow large quite fast. On top of that I realise the pink spots do not come back on the new leaves. I know another member on this forum who has the same positive results after he change the media etc. Try it and see.
