D.Intermedia without dew??
I received a drosera (D.intermedia) from bactrus mid of last month. The plant is placed in bright (not excessively bright) but cool area without direct sunlight and is in water tray. The plant was doing fine until a few days ago it looses its dew.
Is something wrong with that plant? or is it going into some sort of dormancy? I am thinking of covering the plant with transparent plastic container to increase the humidity and hope that it recovers. Any advice on what might have gone wrong? This was how the plant look like a few weeks ago http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...ia25102008.jpg This is how the plant look like now http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...ew19112008.jpg |

Re: D.Intermedia without dew??
I think the problem is a lack of sunlight. Maybe you could try giving it more direct sunlight.
By the way, you can actually make your picture appear on your post by:

Re: D.Intermedia without dew??
Actually when I got the plant, it also look that way (no dew) . Only after repotting it and wait for about 2 days, then the dew starts to form.
I am considering placing it under direct sun together with my VFT but not sure whether this little plant will get cooked from the heat. Maybe I'll just gradually increase the exposure to direct sun. Thanks for the advise |

Re: D.Intermedia without dew??
Actually I also get D.intermedia from Bactrus last time. I also placed in bright (not excessively bright) without direct sunlight and is in water tray. After 2weeks, my intermedia produce many dew. Now it grow many flowers...I think this is not humidity problem because the situation of mine and yours are same...

Re: D.Intermedia without dew??
Hey Kelvin, don't worry too much about no dew. Just put in in more direct sunlight but make sure there is enuf moisture in the media. It has been pretty hot here in Penang, at least last couple of weeks. I left me plants a few days and came back to charcoal plants with flower stalks. Funny thing the whole plant except the flower stalk is sun burn and flower still blooming. Funny.
Like David said, more sun light.
