Re: some of my nep
C way,
Can you share your growing conditions for the N.truncata? I'm unable to offer any advice as i'm still new but my truncata is doing pretty well in a bigger pot which is placed under shade and i mist it once in the morning and again in the evening.

so I move it out to stay with the other common neps which is under 2 layers of shade cloth(almost without direct sunlight), water every days just like how I water my n. ampullaria and n. bicalcrata, it seems to grow a bit faster, however the leafs turn brown very fast as if I have over watered it, yet now the 2 oldest leaves are turning out with big patches of dried leaves... I have no idea how long does it takes for it to cure...or die off... advice pls

Re: some of my nep
Why don't you try repotting it into bigger pot? Maybe it might help.

Re: some of my nep
yeah, i would suggest to repot it too, with fast draining media so that you can waters it everyday together with other neps.....this way the humidity can be maintained however, truncata loves the sun very much so do not over shade it....this is where the challenge comes...
my truncata turns out to be a slow grower when i first got it because it is growing in pure sm but later after advised by some sifus, i changed the media to a mixture of sm, coco chips, perlite, charcoal and styrofoam. the media dont looks good because of all the color brown, black, white and green from the moss. and not to forget, truncata love to be overpot at least from my observation and try to get a larger pot so that it wont need repoting in near future.... for me, it is a trial and error at first but it turns out that it started to grow new leaves and with pitchers too..not a great size but at least it proves that truncata likes airy media, high humidity and lots of sunshine too! why not give it a try rather than wasting the plant by just letting it to dries up.....

Re: some of my nep
Nice plants C Way
Regarding matters with under pot / over pot for N. truncata or other epiphytic nep species/hybrids, I believe it's not so much of the size of the pot but how fast the water in the pot can be drained and evaporated, that's the most important point that most ppl overlook. It's very simple, bigger pot will have larger capacity to hold more water hence it's will stay wet longer and vice versa. If you want to use bigger pot, play around with the mixture of media(s) so that it can be well draining, airy and to allow water to evaporate fast for nep like N. truncata, N. veitchii and etc. If you use smaller pots (in relation to the size of the plants), you could probably get by by using pure LFS along with controlled watering. (As far as I know, YG used pure LFS as their potting media) Just remember, there're infinate ways to archieve the same result. Someways make work for me but not for you... it's also depending on your growing environment, watering frequency and other factors... but the ultimate goal is to achieve what a certain nep species/hybrids preferred for the specific characteristic of their media. My tiny 2 cents...
