Notice the little plantlet at the mid right leaf end. Superb, unique ping. Hardy too according to Lim. Grown in the great outdoors : rain, shine, no prob. Unlike my mexican so-sensitive ping. He sells them for rm20 each. ![]() The d.binata is awesome. It`s so diff from my spoon shaped (spatulatha), lanced shaped ( adelae), single stalk ( filiformis ).....I`m in love. ![]() ![]() Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() I'm back! ![]() Joined: Feb 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 473 Location: Subang Jaya, SS19 ![]() « Reply #1 on May 10, 2007, 9:21pm » I want a primuliflora again~ Stupid animal kill mine... For these species, you should aim for as much sun a spossible-full sun if you can. It looks like a Mexican Ping and they dislike that kind of wet media, unlike the Primuliflora you got from Lim. My advice is to keep it drier or even better, change the media to something with faster drainage like 2 parts perlite, 1 part vermiculite, 1 part peat. Mexican Pings somehow go into "summer dormancy" for us. ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Global Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline Joined: Apr 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 1,523 Location: Bandar Kinrara , Puchong ![]() « Reply #7 on Sept 10, 2007, 1:23pm » Ok I will, thx.....i was procrastinating to change the media coz the ping still looks ok, forgetting of course that I`ve lost quite a few this way. ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Global Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline Joined: Apr 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 1,523 Location: Bandar Kinrara , Puchong ![]() « Reply #8 on Oct 16, 2007, 8:15am » this is what the Ping from kuching sunday market looks like now...it`s sitting on vermaculite.....heheh, dunno if all the minerals are gonna do anything to it or not but it`s been ok for the past 3 weeks.... ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() Joined: Jun 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 393 Location: Langkawi ![]() « Reply #9 on Oct 16, 2007, 10:31am » It looks like some kind of succulent sold together with cacti. Wouldn't know that it's a ping if I happens to see them on sale somewhere... From now on, I'll touch everything that remotely resembles a ping. Nice plant Tarence. Pings leaves are softer and have layers of glue when touched. So yes, you are on the right path if you are gonna touch to identify. That is a nice ping you have there and if you compare the latest picture after your TLC, the plant is healthier and more robust. Well done man! But it is not P. "Sethos" or P. "Weser".
