Default when to harvest drosera seeds

hi to all again, I'm having my drosera burmanii and drosera capilaris flowering lately, according to some, they said have to wait till the Shell of the Seed to be dried up before harvesting, but my burmanii seed's shell have not been dried up but have spilled quite a lot of black and tiny small particles around...so would like to ask when to cut off those seeds shell, tq

I wait until the flowers turn brownish then I snip off the flower stalk and put those flowers in a box and squeeze them when i think its fully ripe(blackish)

i harvest the seeds when the seed pod looks ready to split. i tap the pod with a finger - if it's ready, the seeds will fall out readily. i collect these in an envelope and refrigerate them.

that reminds me ... i have a few capillaris seed pods that are ripe for the picking.

My burmanii and intermedia self-pollinate so I don't have to do that myself.

Hi, I can't confirm if dielsiana is self pollenating, I don't have that species yet, but if it is, yes self pollenating means you do not need to do anything and the seeds will still form and be viable, heck you can even forget about the flower and eventually you will find new seedlings in the pot. But if you want to collect then just wait till the flower bud turns brown then you can collect.

Congratulations on your flowering drosera and good luck with the seeds.

Oh, actually if the seeds are small enough even if you collect them chances are some seeds will still fall and germinate in your pot, so you get a pleasant surprise anyway.
