Just saw this. It is indeed a beautiful plant. I tried to germinate rorida and filifolia seeds but failed. No germination even after I smoked them. The next time I am going to try bleach solution like what I did with my liniflora.
I have not seen guehoi before. Thanks for sharing the picture. Does this species seeds need smoke treatment before they can germinate?

@David: I got these three byblis from Suska Nursery, the filifolia, guehoi and rorida, but out of three only one survive the rest just gone upon arrival only the pot left
![]() Only liniflora I grown from seeds (Cindy's) was cold stratified then bleached for 24 hours before sowing them. Ed |

David, liniflora is the easiest Byblis to germinate. The others require treatment to germinate. The widest used practice is Giberallic Acid. The seeds are soaked in a treatment for 24 hours before they are sown to initiate growth.
As for the number of species there are quite a few. B. gigantea and lamellata are perennial species. B. aquatica, filifolia, guehoi, liniflora and rorida are annuals. |

Thanks Adam. Not sure where to get Gerberallic Acid in Malaysia. What are the chemical ingredients in Gerberallic Acid? Perhaps I can find something similar in chemical composition to what is in Gerberallic Acid.

Not sure of the composition of Giberallic Acid. You should be able to get it from any TC lab. I also know that Triffid Nurseries in the UK sell it but I think they are a little expensive when you factor in exchange rates. A google search should uncover some.
