and the new growth look really nice and healthy.his happy enough with you.

anyway,whats that black shiny pieces in the pots of your VFT and Drosera?

black silica sand, I use sphagnum at the bottom then top with black silica sand, so far so good, pro and con also, vft grow nicer under that from my observation, but then for a small size vft, there is a risk during rainy season, cos rain drop might mess up the sand, might disturb the root, worst ever case, the sand get splash into the growth point of the vft or simply cover bottom part of the plant, which leads to death, for big and matured plant, that won't happen

Soo,did u wash the silica sand before you use it?or did u just pour it straightly from the bag?

where did u find it ?
