Stratification?

I didn't do that actually, I took out the whole container and placed it at a bright but cool (no direct sun) place with the cover still closed. After germination, then open the cover bit by bit slowly to expose the seedlings to outside condition, this is very important as drop in humidity abrubtly could cause the seedlings to dryout and die. This process will take about a week.

Oh, okay, hey Marv, you need to put a bit more data/info in your questions or posts I never imagined that your question was from what I wrote. You and I are opposites, your posts are quite short, while mine are usually minimum of 2 paragraphs, hehehe!

Anyway to clarify. The stratified seeds are ready to be taken out for germination, it is just my way, I don't know if it helps them "wake up" or ease into waking up (I like waking up slowly myself). So I take them out of the ref and just in our room, where it gets room temp in the morning and airconditioned temp at night, I just probably wait maybe 2 to 3 days till I put them on a pot and in the garden in shaded light for germination. I think TS' system works nicely anyway, out from the Ref to the garden.

I'm waiting some more because there is another typhoon coming and maybe more rain, and don't want them to get too wet!

You mean to slowly drop the temperature?

Yeah, sort of like what happens at winter/ spring time, the seeds do not see an sudden drop of temperature it's a bit gradual. What I am doing now is to slowly increase the temperature. After taking out from the Ref, I put in my room which is cooler at night, so that it will "feel" that spring is coming.

Seriously, this is just my "theory" my idea, you don't have to do it because lots of people just pot straight from the Ref to the garden. It's just my quirk.

Sorry I'm a bit late on this thread. Anyway, I thought I might as well share my stratification methods.

What I do for statifying my sarracenia seeds is I get some clear plastic sandwitch bags and I put a few strands of either live sphagnum moss or long fiber sphagnum into each bag that I use. (peat and other mixes work too, but they are messy, and it is hard to find the seeds) I spray a little distilled water in each bag along with some fungicide, and then I add the seeds. I make sure that there is just enough water in each bag to get all the seeds wet.

I put the bags in the refrigerator, and leave them in there for three months. (or more, dependending on when I get to sowing the seeds) When I want to sow the seeds I just sow them in pots indoors so the seedlings don't fry in the sun, get attacked by bugs, get washed away, e.t.c.. The nice thing about this method compared to using pots is that you can store the seeds you're stratifying without using lots up lots of space in your refrigerator. (you can stratify hundreds of seed in each bag easily) Also, water does not escape as much in sealed plastic bags as in pots, so you don't need to worry about the seeds drying out.

What about the D.intermedia seeds?Do they need stratification too?I got them from the Seed bank and maybe David stored them in the ref,kind of stratification?

For drosera seeds, they dont need to stratification
