I've wanted to buy one but don't know how it would do in my heat and low humidity. I just snapped this photo. Ron, it handled the summer heat much better than most of my other highlanders. I think you could grow it fine. This will slowly blacken up with age. Here's an older photo from the same plant: « Last Edit: Dec 7, 2007, 12:12am by Ludwig »Link to Post - Back to Top Logged srduggins New Member member is offline Neps R Us! I like that better than starting whole new topics. I need to get that black clone, mine stays somewhat stripey: I need to take some new pictures though. I don't know if it is just that busy time of year, or since moving my plants into the greenhouse, but I'm not out there every morning seeing photo opportunities. Check your tag and see if it is id'd. As soon as I get batteries for my Cam. I will post a picture. I wasn't aware there was so much varience to this species...mine looks like a super small versian of SRD's right now. « Last Edit: Dec 7, 2007, 6:03am by nepenthusiast »Link to Post - Back to Top Logged nepsaroundthehouse New Member member is offline Joined: Dec 2007 Gender: Male Posts: 7 Location: California Re: N. eymae « Reply #6 on Dec 7, 2007, 9:29am » Eymae has grown very well for me for many years outdoors year around in typical highland conditions I guess. I have a clone that I believe came from EP that has only produced uppers. It's in flower for the first time. Don't know the sex yet. I know of a Wistuba clone and maybe some other clone on the benches with my other smaller Neps. I don't recall any of my clones producing a lower as black as Rainforest's. Will need to verify this. The pitcher is from a lower pup off a vine I don't know where it ends at. The sheath just opened up and the pods are football shaped. Steve this is the plant you got a cutting of. Notice the huge stalk in the background; that's the same plant. « Last Edit: Feb 1, 2008, 1:15am by Ludwig »Link to Post - Back to Top Logged rainforestguy Senior Member member is offline Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 386 Re: N. eymae « Reply #10 on Feb 2, 2008, 6:38am » I just noticed this by Ludwig's black eymae has its dark splotches over a green background while mine appears to be black with green flecks. Interesting how these sort of things can make two similar appearing plants be different. M |
