What happen to my bicalcarata (photo 1)?? the new leaf turn brown. I use wash river sand + coconut peat and filter sunlight. I have another one which is grow very well with same condition.(photo 2)

Your plant might be infected or stress if it's newly bought.

Hi phangst,
I have a strong certainty that it's caused by sunburn. Also the pot of your larger plant seems to have insufficient media. Maybe you can top up to the rim some cocopeat or LFS. Bicals are infamous for throwing tantrums if water is lacking or humidity is not to their liking.

Hi phangst..............I totally agree wif funky...I have a bical and which i got it last september..It took me so long to make it pitcher..My mom always say throw it away its dying..(BTW it didn't grow leaves too
