Thailand Eastern Botanical Exhibition 2nd
« Thread Started on Feb 24, 2008, 11:27am »

Dear All,
Through Feb 22nd - March 2nd, 2008, there is main botanical exhibition in Thailand that due at Chonburi province, Thailand. I attended that exhibition yesterday. The main attraction to me for that show is Nepenthes compettion that many growers and nurseries around eastern part of Thailand and Bangkok send their plant to show and rival for competition.

This is time table indicating when they should send their plant. I am sorry it wrote in Thai language. The sending time is 8.00 - 12.00. In the same time, they have Bromeliads and Orchids competition.

This is the 'Trade Mark' around Booth.

Once I get it the Nepenthes section. I was stuning with very many big pitchers of popular Thailand hybrids, N. viking x ampullaria.

But main thing to make me interesting is the picture below. It is hybrids, tiger x mirabilis. Yeah it is very big and colorful for me. Again even you start with ordinary parents, somehow you can get unexpected result. This plant did not convince the referee, but I think in future, we can see many spectacular hybrids from Thai breeders.

However, thanks for you all to read this thread. I just post some progression in Thailand community for Nepenthes. Next show will be due on June or July, in that show they will include Drosera and VFT for contest also.

I just love the size of the pitchers on the plants there. Do you suppose they fertilize their plants? ha ha!
This is the kind of show I wished I was there to attend. A nice group of plants!
