Some background...these N. campanulata plants were the "leftovers" because the growth tips have turned black. I potted them straight into burnt earth and in 2.5 months, they each produced three new leaves.

Cindy, 2.5 months for three new leaves is impressive. I think you've found the perfect media for campanulata in your growing conditions. Maybe I should repot my campanulata to burnt earth too.

I grow my campanulata in 100% LFS. And it's doing well and pitchering.

Hi Cindy
Now its really tempting me to try on more difficult and more beautiful plants.3 leaves in 2 and a half months is rather a lot my plants approximately makes only about 1 leaf per month for a reject its pretty fast growing.Like u said they have good potential. I have the same qeustions as Akirasama where to get burnt earth in KL???Or any other media whcih is good for neps i now only use 100% LFS....."cheap LFS"..maybe peat would be nice to Ken |

Here in northern Malaysia, burnt earth or sometime lable as "burnt soil" (not the black color type) can be easily found in local nursery, also used for bonzai. ~rm2.00 to rm2.50 per bag.
