Hi Bonsay,

You have a nice collection of sarra, I personaly like the rosea.
Your plants are probably going into dormancy, how long have you kept them? Do they go dormant before?

The plants could skip dormancy when they're one to two years old. But they'll eventually weaken and die if this happen for a prolong period of time.
In the tropic, they go dormant during the cooler months like rainy season. We have to be very careful, don't keep the plant too wet during their dormancy, they tends to rot.
Place the plant in a bright place, remove the water tray, keep the media just moist. After 2 or 3 months, transplant it with new media to wake it up. Treat it like you do to normal sarra, they'll revive.

Hi Bonsay. The leaves that you have described are called phyllodia. They occur on a few plants when they are going into dormancy. You need to provide them with a dormancy period during this time. There are several ways that you can do this and the method described by TS should work for you and is fairly simple. During this time you can allow them to dry alomost completley. I know of people that have had the peat mess shrinking away from the pot it was that dry and when they put them back into water trays they started floating around. They are now in some of their best growth ever. Cheers.

Nope they are not winter leaves... my friends identified it as the effect of pest called thrips...
