My ping cuttings! Long thread with lots of photos.
« Thread Started on Dec 5, 2007, 3:57pm »
During November/December period when the weather is cooler and more humid, I like to repot my Pings and take leaf pullings for propagation. This method worked well for me last year (old GCS thread) so I am repeating it. ^_^

These leaves were pulled off on 8th November 2007.

This is how they are now.

Hey, you just root them in pure perlite. I realised the adult plant is also on pure perlite. What species is that? Is it better with pure perlite. I guess it also depends on the species huh?

I`m off to pull off some ping leaves. heheh. Cindy, do pings tend to grow slowly in our climate ? my mexican ping from leaf doesn`t even grow much in a year. the semi-adult plant which came was quite vigorous tho unlike the leaf germinated ones.

Tarence,
The ****es from the cuttings I took are almost 1-2cm across...either single plant or a clump of smaller plants. They are about a month old. Pretty fast, I would say.

I'll post pics later. After I pot up all the leftover Cephs and VFTs!

Cindy,

Hello, just a matter of interest. What is the status of your Ping sethos. If you have the time. Thanks.

Hi Bactrus,

Are you refering to the P. x 'Sethos' ****es? They are about 3/4" inch wide now. I'll post some pics later.
