splendiana x rokko

I'd like to show this plant, now that it's 1 year old.

I grew it from seed I got from jk. Hilariously enough, this is the only seedling that survived under my conditions. The seed I got apparently went all over the place before I got it, so that may explain things. Anyway, it is developing extremely fast (and this is pretty much the only plant I keep a log of). I wish all my neps grew like this:

At 7 months:

At 10 or 11 months:

Now (approx. 1 year). It has developed a nice red color on the leaves, even in relatively low light. The leaves are already bright red when they unfurl, but then they fade slightly to this:

current pitcher:

The plant is currently ~23cm (touch over 9"). It is making a 2.125" (5.39cm) on a 4.5" (11.43cm) leaf. The pitcher is still inflating as well. Hopefully it keeps getting bigger before opening

I have a suggestion that could make this seedling grow rampantly. I am not exactly sure what the mechanics of how it works, but seedlings grown in small pots tend to grow very rampant. I have seen a small plant in such a large pot that it appears to grow ever so slowly. But a plant fitted well into a smaller pot, quickly outgrows them. But one must gradually repot these one pot size at a time.
Try this. But don't use coco fiber. Use a well draining media of organic and inorganic components. Fertilize with diluted water soluble blends and Superthrive. And stand back!

Will do. How much longer do you think I should keep it in the current pot?

It is actually getting along very well, let it get somewhat root bound and repot it to a lightly larger pot and stand back!

Phissionkorps, Your N. Splendiana x Rokko is doing better than any of mine. Your pitcher has better color, too. Mine are in bright shade, so they are probably getting more light than yours. I wonder if low light brings out the red color because there's less chlorophyll in the plant. Anyway, here are a couple of my plants for comparison.

Do you have any measurements on those?
Perhaps put one or two in lower light, and see how they develop.
One thing I just noticed: my leaves seem to come out straight from the stem, then curve in one direction (to the right IIRC). They also seem pretty arched, but I don't know if that is a result of my conditions or an inherent property of the plant.

Very nice seed grown material there. Yay for varied genetics .

Mine are even smaller, but starting to put on some size. I've got green ones and red striped ones, some with that wind blown look, but mostly normal growth patterns.
