Default Intermediate Pitchers

Hi Folks, Sharing some pics. Have not been going to my plants for some time and today found a large intermediate pitcher from my Rafa Red Squat, entwined with the vines of Gentle. Another one just inflating in the background. Also pic of Green Ampularia basals. The main vines have grwon about 5 feet tall. hosh

The big pitchers are about 5 to 6cm deep and 4 to 5cm wide. Funny thing is that there are no upper pitchers even though the old vines are very tall. Do amps produce inter and upper pitchers?

They rarely produce intermediate to upper pitchers...Normally the vine won't pitcher..Even if they do the pitchers are really tiny

Thanks Kent. Maybe I should cut off some of the tall vines to encourage new growth from the base. I have same problem with very tall vine of my Rafa and wondering how to stimulate offshoots from base.
Picture below showing the tall vines, from right Ampu, Hooker, Rafa Red Squat & Rafa.

Hosh, with amps, I find that if you remove the older dying basal leaves and keep the bare stem moist and exposed to light, new side shoots will appear, forming aerial 'basal' shoots. This is what I mean:

Thanks for tips. Will try out on some of the old vines. My pot is about 1 foot across, big enough?
