My form of culture of droseras in Brazil.

I culture droseras in the way more seemed possible with the natural one. Use substratum of pure Sphagnum or sphagnum with pearlite. Not vi differences in the culture.

The vases are in tray with water in the height of 2/3 approximately, of the vases. I keep the plants to the outdoors, with Sun the biggest possible time. They are only kept when the wind is very strong.

The seeds are planted in “mousse of sphagnum”, esphagnum triturated, placed on sphagnum normal. I place the seeds on this mousse and wait that they are born. Without great frescuras. He is alone to trust the nature.

Some droseras more than require a little well-taken care of with the moistness, as the D. prevailed, this I are germinating in a terrário, and are very well!

It is this, half generic… can ask that I answer in the possible measure do.

« Reply #2 on 29 Sept, 2007, 23:49 »Ola` Nox....i use peat moss for drosera seed germination. Or very fine spaghnum moss. I put the pots in water & also a plastic see-though cover to stop rain from disturbing the seeds or small plantlets.

Depending on how hot the sun in Brazil is, full day direct sun may be too much. I only expose my seeds to bright light & only give them a little sun when they germinate.
