I have tried a few but they all died on me. Alas, these few finnaly survive in my growing conditions under artificial lights. However, I understand that some of you have more robust plants than me when you grow this fella outdoors. But I'm happy. At least these few did not die on me and there are dews on their leaves. (off topic: Tarence, that's your green VFT you gave me on the left. Zak! You here... Mind sharing your cultivation environment and routine please. For your p. primuliflora I mean. Thanks Yupe! That's the indica at the background. It has toppled over. Almost all the leaves turning yellow. It is flowering now. i'm letting it. Will collect the seeds and start over with new plants. This fella don seem to be able to survive long. Haa, haaa, maybe I should change from "yahoo" to "Oh Yaaa..." ... don sound very right too laa. Maybe should have just left that word out. « Last Edit: Sept 18, 2007, 2:35pm by David »Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Global Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline Joined: Apr 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 1,523 Location: Bandar Kinrara , Puchong ![]() « Reply #4 on Sept 18, 2007, 3:54pm » if i remember correctly Zak said full sun, high water levels, spag moss. which i have duplicated exactly to no avail. Of course cannot change the light intensity as I grow it under lights. The water level is a little less than 1 in deep and to prevent bacteria from growing on stagnant water and the s. moss (making it stink like rotten egg) I pump air into the water. Seems perfect. ![]() Actually all my sundews, vfts and pings are grown like that now. They seem to like it and I don have to water them one by one. So tiring, so many pots. Now I just pour water into the water tray. « Last Edit: Sept 18, 2007, 5:05pm by David »Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() Joined: Jun 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 393 Location: Langkawi ![]() « Reply #6 on Sept 18, 2007, 7:58pm » Just to share Davids joy... In Langkawi... So It's hot hot, the trick in helping it catch more insects is to turn on the balcony light late at night so the insects will gather and fall down onto my death rack (my cp rack la).... Lisham : nice.....my ****es seem to be sluggish in growth. the first few came out like 4 months ago & they seem to take their own sweet time growing. « Last Edit: Sept 20, 2007, 8:54am by tarence »Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Administrator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() ![]() Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 2,326 Location: Kuala Lumpur ![]() « Reply #10 on Sept 20, 2007, 9:18am » Lisham, that's alot of digested insect on your sundew. I do it once every 2 weeks during the weekends. I'm thinking of growing ultris in the water tray. Perhaps that would reduce the algae growth since the ultris would have taken up whatever nitrogen that is available in the water. But my algae problem is not that bad as I use RO water. David, good luck with the light increase. Hope everything turns out the best for you... |
