Hopefully enthusiasts and scientists will at least manage to keep them alive in cultivation. My precious "viking". How come? I though the plants were almost extinct when the tsunami hit the shores of Thialand a couple of years ago. The whole island where vikings grew were imerged with sea water. I read somewhere there were only a few plants left in that location. The rest died as the soil became too salty. Salt water crystalised under the sun. « Last Edit: May 10, 2007, 1:11pm by David »Link to Post - Back to Top LoggedMy Wantlist artificialive Pioneer Member / Global Moderator member is offline Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male Posts: 713 Location: Ayer Keroh, Malacca Re: IUCN Redlist « Reply #6 on May 10, 2007, 1:10pm » You will be very, very popular if u have a nep that is categorized as EX Link to Post - Back to Top 58.139.248.124[Naj Grow List] --- [Naj Wanted List] tarence Global Moderator member is offline Joined: Apr 2007 Gender: Male Posts: 1,523 Location: Bandar Kinrara , Puchong Re: IUCN Redlist « Reply #7 on May 10, 2007, 3:14pm » Quote:You will be very, very popular if u have a nep that is categorized as EX Yeah, for one, the authorities will come after you....but before that it`ll be the plant collectors ! haha.... As far as I am concern, I bought it from a nursery that told me it was nursery grown. It came with CITES cert too. That's why together with the postage, it cost me RM300 ++ It's a species. Been wanting this fella for sooooooo long, until end last year I just could not wait anymore and bought it. You can see more of them on Neofarm website. The link is on the "Where to get what" archive. This was the nursery I bought from. They also tissue culture now. The owner Mr. Nong is a very nice guy. « Last Edit: May 10, 2007, 4:55pm by David »Link to Post - Back to Top LoggedMy Wantlist tarence Global Moderator member is offline Joined: Apr 2007 Gender: Male Posts: 1,523 Location: Bandar Kinrara , Puchong Re: IUCN Redlist « Reply #10 on May 10, 2007, 8:03pm » David : i didn`t mean YOU as in YOU David.....jus t a general you in response to Naj`s statement, especially for folks who took them illegally. Bellii (EN) and N. Bicalcarata (VU). Would really wanted to own N. Campanulata, which was once thought to be extinct (due to forest burn) until recently was discovered back by Chi'en Lee..
