Default Re: Some nice CP updated at 4Z webpage

Hahahaa.... IMHO, EP's plant is expensive for some very good reasons...

1) their nursery is actually situated in a very arid area (Low Land somemore) somewhere in Australia (dry, hot and low humidity), yet they managed to grow and flower some very nice HL neps. You ever ask how they do it??

2) Most intermediate and HL neps grow slower and takes forever to flower... after flower need to collect the pollen if it's male. If it's female need to select a suitable male pollen so that the hybrids will have good potential. Many fators depends on luck, timing and continuous efforts. Trust me, you won't get the results if you hire bangla to do it.... All this have to be done by experienced ppl.

3) After obtaining seeds, need germinate it and to grow it (assuming germinated rate is high) to marketable size (plants from EP were well known for being bigger than normal size if compared to other professional nursery). As most intermediate/HL hybrids grow slower... it'll be longer to reach marketable size, we're talking about years... not months.

4) Price for Malaysian is higher because

- cost for shipment, paper work (CITES, Phyto, Import Permit and etc) and time for the person (Fauzi) to clear the shipment with custom and agri department (every shipment fixed cost is about ~ RM1000 !! as provided by Fauzi). Just to bring those plants into Malaysia...

- volume... not enough to off set the high cost... (only 20 - 40 plants per order)

Ok that's for most EP seed grown plants.... but EP also been offering some nice TC nep hybrids at a more afforable price which were raised and sold by YG... remember N. x Red Dragon, N. x Red Leopard, N. x Jungle Bell and a few others???

Seed grown neps (especially with HL and intermediate cross) will definately cost more and it's targeted mainly towards enthusiast market. For mass market, TC plants will probabaly the only way for now, like most other plants sold by YG (MT origin).

If you don't agree, pls comment... Thankyou.
