Even worst! He fertilized the ventrata that was sending out off shoots! Very scared it'll die.

If it die I'll make him pay me RM 50 for 'ganti rugi'. My ventrata was already bigger. The pitchers are now 3 times bigger than when I first bought it.

How long ago was this ? Has the fertiliser seeped thru to the medium ? You could wash it all off & change the medium as well. Worse thing that could happen : no pitchers for a few months until the plant recovers.

those fertilizer bits look like they can be picked off the media. if you can, just pick them all out and then flush with lots of water after that. it should not cause too much harm to the nep, since i suppose they have not been there for long.

Told my father not to fertilize still fertilize. He fertilized them yesterday and said he don't care if it died. He said it was very ugly and the pitchers look like tupperware. So angry. I removed some fertilizers already but there is still a lot. The fertilizers is already soft and seeping into the medium. I won't have the chance to buy new CP if my ventrata die. Mom too busy. My father don't need to ask also know he will not let me buy

then your best option now would be to flush the media with lots and lots of water everyday. hopefully you'll be able to wash away most of the fert or at least dilute it enough so that there won't be adverse effects on the nep.

I tried to remove it. I removed most of them. The remains are a red powder. It's stuck to the sphaghum moss. The 3rd plant with off shoots, I did'nt remove the fertilizers. Want to watch what happen to the nep. Ist and 2nd removed.

Plantlover,
i would suggest you to remove the fertilizers. Looks like its a chemical based fert + not a slow release type. Even normal plants can die if given an too chemical fert.

Red color suggests the fert is use to induce flowers.

My father said by using fertilizers, the plant is going to become healthier and bigger. He said the pitcher plant is ugly because it don't have flowers. He said how come cannot fertilize? So angry.....

Next time ask him to buy Nepenthes for dummies. hehehe

And he;s very stubborn. So so so angry

Dear plantlover,
Putting myself into your shoes, i'll try to educate your dad and give logics on why he cant fertilize nepenthes. Maybe you can tell him that the beauty of neps are not on the flowers, but its about the pitchers. That makes nepenthes sumthing unique.
By giving some examples on why we cant fertilize neps too much is that, assuming the plant as a human. When somebody provide us food, we dont need to go to the kitchen, no need to bring out the 'periuk' to cook. Same as neps, when we provide them with fertilizers, they wont need to produce pitchers to 'cook' their food

Me too. I love neps because of the unique shape and colours of the pitchers NOT the boring flowers.

I think we're forgetting the main reason why we grow these interesting plants. They capture and eat unwanted pests. After a hot summer here, my pitchers are full of flying roaches, flies, ants and mosquitos. They also seem to attract and capture insect pests that affect other plants such as beetles, slugs/snails, caterpillars and pests that annoy us like centipedes.

As for your over fertilization. I seriously doubt that the few grains sen will do much harm. But as Fauzi has suggested, be sure you water deeply to flush out excess water from their drain holes. Watering daily will help and a positive note that will result from this is that you will get a bigger plant with bigger pitchers! N. Ventrata is a weed, they bounce back after much abuse.

Your dad is just like my friend's dad who cannot believe that a plant do not need fertilisers. He keeps fertilising her neps eventhough she told him numerous times not to.

Maybe if you can also scrape off the top layer of the media about 1-2 inche deep and before starting to flush the media for the next week or so.
