What worked very well for me..

D. petiolaris
D. paradoxa
D. broomensis
D. derbyensis
Yea... From experiment, agree with what Cindy and others said. But, what I did is, I use knife . For D. petiolaris, I cut it to 2, but, try to make sure the mother plant have root attached. Then replant the mother and the "cut". End result is, I have 3 plant totally.

Use tweester to replant it together with mother leaf. Cover the pot.

Okay, I tried some D. binata 'Multifada Extreme' leaf cuttings in water (cut on March 18, 09) and just checked the results (April 9, 09);

The browned out ones are pieces of leaf stem, just as an experiment. The wider top portion of the leaf (with the sticky glands) seems to do much, much better!

HI all

I am trying these methods due to a recent aphid attack which I need to throw the parent plants away.

My question is :

After cutting the leaves and leaving in media and water, I covered the tub with a lid. How long do I leave the tub covered? I mean, i see water droplets forming now.. Can I open and check etc?

No need to throw away the entire parent plant, just rinse off the old media from the roots, and rinse off the aphids as best as you can, and submerge the entire plant in shallow distilled water, and soon it will recover and produce small plants on their leaves and even roots. A quarantine separation from the rest of your plants for a few weeks like this should be adequate. - Rich

Thanks for the advice. How long does one need to submerge the entire plant to get rid of the aphids?
