High altitude plant. Doesn't do well in lowland.

I grow this outdoors and it seems to do fine okay so far...

Mine seems to grow better with more sunlight than in shady place.

I'm from Malaysia. Bought it at Putrajaya during a fair. Will snap some photos for you to judge if it is indeed a Brocchinia reducta. From some Google image search, it looks like it, shape like it BUT doesn't know if it is.

My carnivorous bromeliad--B. reducta. Grow under 50% shade cloth.
