ID new vanda
Went to Sg buloh to get an orchid today....Got his purple flowering strap leaf vanda...I heard they can't get too much sun...So for this time of the year i might be having some trouble Oh well anyway i also bought a fert and according to the thing it says on the packet it promotes flowering but on new trio's site http://www.trio.com.my/product-range/water-soluble its for like leafy plants? So yea help me..
Heres the plant And the fertilizer Oh yea the potting mix for the orchid is like some really light paperish yellowish thing..Anyone know what is it?

That's an Aranda (arachnis x vanda). Arandas take very bright light, unlike Mokaras (arachnis x vanda x ascocentrum), which take slightly shadier conditions. Your plant is probably a top cutting, recently potted in sawdust/wooden chips. This being the case, it will probably take some time to re-establish before flowering again.

Well my mokara (the one in the picture) has been getting quite a lot of direct sun and is now working on a flower spike...Oh yea am i not suppose to wet the flowers?any comments on the fert? Sorry newbie here hahaha

Nothing wrong with wetting the flowers, except they won't last as long. Flowers last much longer if kept shadier, dry (minimal direct contact with water), high humidity and cool. I have not used that particular fertiliser, but should be okay since it is manufactured for orchids. If being cautious, dilute it 3 or 4 times the recommended dose.
