Default Propagate pygmy by leaf

For those tried it. May I know plantlet will grow from which part of leaf? dew section (like D. capensis, D. intermedia) or the others end (like D. paradoxa)?

Posted because 2 master mentioned it at https://forum.petpitcher.net/showthre...?t=1883&page=3

What they are referring to is gemmae. This is a modified leaf that is produced when pygmies go dormant. Those in tropical areas will find it a little more difficult to get them to go dormant due to the constant temperatures. My pygmies are just beginning to produce gemmae now. I think you generally need a reduction in temperatures, reduced water levels and reduction in photo period.

Once you get gemmae you simply lay them out on moist soil and they germinate in no time at all. For those looking for gemmae they are produced in the centre of the plant and appear like small buds or discs. simply turn the pot upside down over paper (making sure the plant doesn't fall out) and scrape the gemmae out with something like a pencil.

but they did mentioned use leaf cutting to propagate.. that why casey wonder how possible to make it in pymea form...

for like tropical country, the only choice is keep them in the fridge for go to dormancy.

find out some source
http://pygmydrosera.com/cult.html

it can propagate through seed, gemmae, leaf cutting and Decapitation

Casey & Edmund, propagate it as you propagate D.paradoxa. Quite easy. It requires the white part on the other end of the leaf to root.

Oh yes, we must learn how to be gentle some times...
Edmund, don't be too greedy, just a few leaves at once, or else the tiny plant easily gone "botak" and probably will die
