Nep for ID
I won't influence your call by guessing myself! Bought this plant almost a year ago from a nursery that had 3 of them (only neps in the place). When I asked what species it was the owner said it came from Europe...I explained that perhaps it was shipped from Europe but that there are no native European neps. None of the 3 plants had any pitchers and I've stopped by there to check on hers and still no pitchers. Finally this month mine has formed two small pitchers and the new shoots are all looking like they will pitcher soon.
Thanks for your input! The one in the large pot; |

Re: Nep for ID
Ok, that 4 for 4! I thought the same, but with the weird comment about it having been shipped here all the way from Europe I was hoping I might have found something far different! Ahhh, yet another retail marketing scam! I must have a few hundred baby N. coccinea plants in the nursery already so if I move this one down there maybe they can all look up to it as an example of how to grow up big!
Thanks to you all for confirming! |

Re: Nep for ID
N. x Coccinea is a man-made hybrid which is not native to anywhere.
