Cleaning U.Gibba container
Hi everyone
Just got my 1st urtic about a week back from edward from a trade(thanks) Since then the water level has drop quite a lot and its just sitting there probally just 2 cm or less of water and about an inch of peat thingy that i have no idea what is it at the bottom..So they say i have to clean there container..so how do i do that? The gibba is already attached to the pot...so do i have to like take the peat out together with the gibba all out clean the container throughly or do i just replenish the water after it drops to just wet peat and clean just a little at the sides?Anyone can share how you do it? Ken

Re: Cleaning U.Gibba container
Just wipe down the peat off the sides and refill using a watering rose. Once the colony get established allow the water level to drop around 1cm or lower to induce flowering.

Re: Cleaning U.Gibba container
Hey, it's pure peat moss at the bottom. It's already absorbed water, so it sank to the bottom. Just add water to it, but be gentle, otherwise it will stir the moss and make a milo concotion.....hehehe. Clean the container if there is algae.
Cheers

Hi Ed
Umm yeah i know must be gentle...The top layer algae or some green layer on the top of the water i spray it away to the aide of the pot so that it doesn't suffocate the plant....And also can i use normall drinking water and not RO water??? Ken
