Leaf burn is immediate if the plant get burned. You can see totally bleached or brown patches on the leaves within a day or two. If not , then the plant is safe within its' tolerance range.

Haa, haaa... Why, I'll look like a charcoal huh... ok, ok, I won't keep hanging around it when it is on, trying to figure out the best distance it should be from the plants etc.
