Took some pictures over the weekend. Quickly upload now.

The Flower
I snap the picture at about one in the afternoon as the sepals were starting to close.

The lens-headed tentacles and another inflorecence of D hartmeyerorum.

The lens-headed tentacles (in yellow).

In Stewart McPherson's book, Gelistering Carnivores (p110, Figure 90), the lens-headed tentacles will glow under torch light. Unfortunately I don't have permission to publish the photo. Will have to find a way to capture the picture in the evening.

The petiole turning grasping an insect in order to subdue the insect, protect its nutrient source from other insects and maximise surface area for nutrient absorption.

Your plant is growing very well for you Ban Aik. Mine have not flowered yet, sad to say. Nice photos that you have taken.

You make me blush.

David, try feeding the plant weekly. The tentacle in the last picture, well, it died many weeks ago and has grown about 2 inches since then.

The last photo is provided by Uncle Ham, who hails from MNS. A friend Lim and I met during the floral fest. Managed to poison him also. Oh, his friend too.

Hmm, I think that might be the problem. I never fed my hart and on top of that it is grown indoors under growlights. Ok, will start feeding it and see what happens.

** Off topic: Can you help talk to Uncle Ham and see if PetPitcher can work out some programs with MNS to promote both CPs and conservation of nature in Malaysia. It would be great if we can work with them. **
