One of the many sad things about this thread here is, (aside from the language barriers), are the historic and cultural differences: remember that the United States of America (USA) took over the "Vietnamese Conflict" (a brutal war) from the French! So, it's not too surprising that many of the people in Vietnam have a "certain distain" for the French, but at the same time, the irony is that Francois was born in Vietnam, although his ancestry is from neighboring Cambodia; perhaps there are some ethnic differences between these cultures as well. Still, so sad on so many levels. - Rich
